Kravice Waterfalls
A 28 m curtain of falls about 40 km from Mostar. Adult entry is 20 KM, and you can swim in summer at your own risk.

Mostar sits in the middle of Herzegovina, and four places make easy outings from it. Three of them belong together: Blagaj, Počitelj and Kravice Waterfalls. The fourth, Međugorje, is a pilgrimage village and a separate interest. Each has its own page, linked below.
The usual day out runs from Mostar to Blagaj, then Počitelj, then Kravice Waterfalls. Blagaj is the closest, about 12 km from Mostar. Počitelj is about 25 to 30 km to the south. Kravice is the furthest, about 40 km west, and a drive of 35 to 40 minutes according to Euro City Guide.
Blagaj has a Sufi lodge under a cliff, at the source of a river. Počitelj is a fortified stone village on a hillside above the Neretva. Kravice is a wide curtain of waterfalls with a swimming area. Together they give you history, a view and water in one day.
Put Kravice last in summer if you want to swim. The official site lists opening until 22:00 from June to September, which leaves room for a late afternoon dip. In the colder months it closes by 17:00, so reverse the order or start early.
Međugorje is about 28 km from Mostar. It is a place of pilgrimage for Catholics, visited by more than a million people a year according to Wikipedia. It does not sit naturally with the loop above, and it suits visitors with a religious or cultural interest rather than those after scenery. We cover it neutrally and with respect on its own page.
A tour takes the driving, parking and timing off your hands. Several operators run the loop from Mostar with pickup, and you can see the options in the cards below. A car gives you flexibility to stay longer at one stop, but you need an International Driving Permit as well as your UK licence if you hire in Bosnia. Our getting there page covers roads and transport.
If you are visiting from the coast, the Mostar from Dubrovnik page covers tours that combine Mostar with one or two of these stops. The day tours page compares them, and the itinerary shows how a day trip fits around the city itself.
Check the best time to visit before you pick a date, as summer is hot and the waterfalls are at their best then. If you are staying a few nights, where to stay helps you choose a base.
